New Recipe Video – Cauliflower Salad

Hey guys! As promised on my Facebook page, I made my next recipe video! This time, I’m recreating a recipe from EverydayPaleo.com. Her “No Potato” Salad – using cauliflower instead!

All you need is: cauliflower, celery, hard boiled eggs, dill pickles, red onion, and mayo

I didn’t follow the recipe exactly because, as you’ll see, the homemade mayo was pretty gross. I knew Zack and I wouldn’t eat it, so I ran to the store and bought Miracle Whip.

I’m still trying to think of ways to make my videos more interesting… but until then, here you go!

PRIMAL NUT FAIL:
here’s the making of the homemade mayo and my reaction to it :P .

I noticed you started your video with “Hey Guys.” Avoid!!!111 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOw12oUzYYA

Also, one surefire way to spruce up your videos is to add a little background music. There are plenty of sites online that offer royalty free music.

You might want to consider illuminating the top of your head and background. The dull lighting makes you appear tired for some reason… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkUqBJoxZ-I

One more thing, under your video’s tags. You might want to consider going after more long tail searches, like “Paleo diet recipes” or “cooking a primal meal.” There’s no way you’re going to rank for terms like “kitchen” or “celery.”

I do like your slates and fast forward techniques..although the fast forward noise is like nails on a chalkboard!

    Keep at it!

Thanks for the tips :) Unfortunately my overhead kitchen light doesn’t work and a couple of the under the cabinet ones are burnt out, so I’m relying on daylight. I’m experimenting with some background music and maybe I’ll turn the FF audio down a bit ;) .

Also, I wish I could be like her – http://youtu.be/XT46FV64dr8
But I’m just not that funny. I also don’t have the video editing skills yet :)

I enjoyed your video and will be trying the recipe for sure. Loved how your dog got a bite of the cauliflower. (our dog was a veggie beggin’ pooch too)

This recipe is the first Primal recipe I’ve tried. It’s pretty good right out of the bowl! We adapted the Everyday Paleo recipe too. We also elected to use mayo and more or less halved the recipe. We need to add some pepper and spices to it, but decided to make a trip to Jay’s International to get some spices and ingredients for some other recipes. We just got a cookbook from the library this afternoon, PB Quick and Easy Meals and the pictures look ah-mazing! thanks for the video and suggestion! dinner should be delicious tonight.
